These versions support the addition of up to 5 cards from three payment schemes, for example Visa, Mastercard and American Express. The scheme logo appears on the built-in display when making a payment hence the cards loaded can be from any combination of these three schemes.
The on-card display uses the latest e-paper technology and can be read easily, even in direct sunlight. This technology is what is known as “bi-stable” meaning the image can remain on the display even when no power is applied. Rugged, thin, flexible, and reliable, these displays have been specifically developed for Xard for use within payment cards. A simple, easy to use, touch sensitive keypad allows the cardholder to navigate between cards and access important card data such as expiry date or security code (CVV). If the issued card supports dynamic CVV then so can the Xard Card!
An optional embedded fingerprint sensor allows the user to lock the card – protecting the cardholder in the case of a lost or stolen card. Where supported by the card issuer, this biometric sensor can also be used as a cardholder verification method for card present payments.
